Are We Real?

hello

Here's the question for today: Are we real or are we living in a computer generated simulation? This is a question that is currently making the rounds of publications such as The New York Times and Discover Magazine.  Speculation in the past posed the question: Are we real or are we dreaming this existence?

Isn't the computer simulation theory just a new tech-savvy way of asking the same question? If we are in a computer simulation, I didn't create my own avatar - I was created by someone else - or - I would surely be a different someone than the someone I am (like having beautiful hair or being incredibly smart). Seriously, does it matter? We have this life we live that we must live, whatever its genesis.

Dust of Snow

We had our first snow today at our home in eastern New York, on the edge of New England. The winter season in this area is truly spectacular. I love the blue and gray mountains with the frosted trees. I do think it may be the most beautiful season, although, there is the fall. The photo is of a view off our front porch on a winter day in February.

Dust Of Snow

by Robert Frost
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
