Winter is never-ending this year. Yes, I do believe in global warming and the consequences thereof - but - we are still having a storm every week comprised of snow, sleet, freezing rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow. Here's a poem of sorts that I wrote.
Winter Storm
Through the darkness of space,
the immensity of matter,
thin light penetrates.
Winds blow; sleet flies.
Snow is forced forward and made hard.
Birds cower in the bramble.
The light forms at my feet and becomes woman.
From her head knowledge proceeds
and multiplies.
What is her task in this fine-light, snow-forced world?
Sleet rattles at the windows.
I sit and wait, reading.
